That’s right – an exciting Black Friday weekend has put us in the number one slot on Android Market in the UK.
We want to say thanks to everyone for their amazing response, and to celebrate we are extending our half-price sale to give even more people a chance to get the most effortless and pain-free typing experience on Android at half off.
Do your friends, colleagues, relatives and acquaintances all have SwiftKey yet? What are they waiting for? Now’s the time to tell them – it’s not too late to get half-price SwiftKey and make typing on your phone easier than ever before.
SwiftKey Tablet X is half price too, so if you’ve grabbed a bargain tablet in the Black Friday sales now’s the time to complete your SwiftKey collection.
Just to let you all know, to celebrate Thanksgiving and the Black Friday – Cyber Monday sales weekend, we’re offering both SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X for 50% off.
So, if you’ve yet to get the apps, or know someone who might like to try them, this weekend is a great time to buy! The offer is available via both the Android Market (SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X) and the US-only Amazon Appstore (SwiftKey X and SwiftKey Tablet X).
Enjoy, and have a great weekend!
Our developers have been working extra hard to make the Fluency engine — the clever technology behind SwiftKey’s predictions — faster and more efficient. This means it should take up less memory on your phone and get you the best predictions and corrections even quicker.
You may have heard that we’ve been working on our multi-touch — the enhanced multi-touch framework in this release should make life much easier for all you rapid typists, allowing you to type even faster.
Multi-language support has always been at the heart of SwiftKey’s mission. This update adds Arabic and Hebrew to our list of supported languages, bringing the total to 35. You can enable up to three languages at once and switch seamlessly between different layouts (e.g. English and Greek) simply by sliding the spacebar. Also, for the first time, we have full language localization for Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.
Other enhancements include DVORAK and COLEMAK layouts, the ability to change the height of the keys to suit your device and fingers, and improvements to the settings menu, alternate character selection, and sharing options.
We hope you’ll all enjoy it, and remember to tell your friends about it!
Here at SwiftKey we work incredibly hard. Every second of productivity is valuable, and so it is important to us that we review every process within the company to find where extra efficiencies can be made. To that end, we have spent considerable time and development effort creating a tool which solves a problem which has plagued offices for centuries, “Whose turn is it to make the tea?”
Now usually it’s down to the newest member of the team, or perhaps somebody that nobody really likes, but here at SwiftKey everybody is equal. Mrs Doyle is our virtual tea lady. She lives in our server room and only talks to the outside world via google chat. It’s her responsibility to stay in touch with everybody throughout the day to make sure that they are sufficiently hydrated. As soon as one person hints – however subtly – that they may be in need of a beverage, Mrs Doyle asks the whole office whether they might be persuaded to have a cup of tea.
Once she has surveyed everybody in the office about their imminent desire to imbibe, she fairly and equitably appoints one of the tea drinking cohort and delegates to them the responsibility of providing for their fellow consumers. Her ways are mysterious and oftentimes people get the impression that they are being victimised in some way, but over time they come to find that Mrs Doyle really does know best. What’s more it adds a touch of adrenaline into an otherwise sedentary pursuit. It really is quite a rush not being chosen!
